How it works
Asynchronous by design. No long-running client requests. Typical first delivery: about 2 business days. Typical revision: same day to 1 business day.
Provide child information, approved images, locale, product format and style. You receive 202 Accepted with a request ID immediately.

Early access: we onboard about 5 pilot partners by hand. The endpoints below are listed so you can evaluate the integration — not a production multi-client tenant. Keys after review. No self-serve signup, dashboard, or client isolation.
Quickstart
Authenticate, create a design request, wait for the webhook (or poll status), then request free refinements when needed.
Authorization: Bearer $STORYTELLRS_API_KEY on every request. Keys are issued after manual approval of your access request.
POST /v1/design-requests returns 202 with id and status: "queued". Do not wait on a long HTTP connection.
queued → generating → in_review → ready (or needs_input / failed). Prefer webhooks; poll GET /design-requests/:id as a fallback.
story.ready. Fetch the structured story with GET /stories/:id.
POST /design-requests/:id/revisions sends instructions to real designers. Revisions do not consume your free or paid completed-design allowance.
Idempotency-Key on create and revision to avoid duplicates. Expect 401 auth, 422 validation, 429 rate limit, 409 conflict on stale revisions.
Indicative turnaround during early access: ~2 business days for a new completed design · same day to 1 business day for a revision.

Approved for deliveryPowered by technology. Crafted by humans.
Our systems automate the heavy lifting. Trained creative specialists review the details that determine whether a story feels polished, coherent and safe to publish.

Children’s data & privacy
When images of children enter the workflow, responsibilities stay clear. You collect consent; we process only what is needed to deliver the story.
You obtain and record parental or guardian consent before uploading child images or personal details. Storytellrs processes data as your production processor for story creation.
Images and payloads are encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access inside production systems is limited to the people and services required for generation and review.
Production assets are retained for delivery, revision and invoicing support, then deleted on a defined schedule or earlier on partner request for a specific story or account.
Generation models and secure infrastructure providers support orchestration. Human creative review is performed by trained MagicLabs specialists under the same confidentiality controls.
Primary production systems run in the EU (Ireland) with optional US processing for partners who require it. Region selection is confirmed during onboarding.
Customer-uploaded child photos and partner brand assets are not used to train foundation models. They are used only to fulfil design requests and revisions for your account.

Your brand, your story world
Start with a direction that fits age, purchase context and format. If your brand needs a new visual language, we scope a custom style with an explicit setup fee.
White-label by design Storytellrs stays behind the scenes. Your customers experience your brand, checkout and relationship from start to finish.
Live US product
The live US product sells personalised storybooks. Template plots with swapped names were not enough to turn previews into purchases.
Families answer a short questionnaire and upload approved images — every detail shapes direction, narration and illustration.
We orchestrate narrative and art, run human review, and refine free via the API until the story is ready to sell.
About 4 in 10 families who start a story request go on to buy the finished book — not a relative lift, an absolute conversion rate.
“Families recognise their child in the finished book — that is what turns a preview into a purchase.”

Deeply personalised books and stories from structured customer inputs and approved images, delivered as structured story JSON and production assets. A hosted viewer is available on the white-label path.
Storytellrs combines model orchestration, creative production workflows, consistency checks, brand controls and human review. You receive a finished creative product rather than raw outputs — with unlimited refinements by real designers included.
No. Each approved detail can shape the story direction, tone, writing style, scenes and imagery. Our team applies the narrative and conversion experience learned from producing personalised stories in market, so the result feels intentionally made for the child rather than assembled from interchangeable fields.
Retouches are free and unlimited on an existing design. Request revisions through POST /design-requests/:id/revisions and real designers will refine the story, illustration or layout. A new direction or new brief creates a new completed design.
A completed design is the first approved delivery of a new brief. Example: Noah’s Moon story in Soft Storybook = 1 design. Three free retouches on that story = $0. Restarting the same child in Watercolour Classic (new direction) = +1 design. Your first 5 books free count these completed designs, not revisions.
Two paths: API only (JSON + assets, you keep checkout) or white-label (same engine plus a hosted viewer). A hosted cart is scoped — talk to us if you need it. You keep the customer relationship and brand experience.
Your first 5 completed designs (books) are free. After that, completed designs are billed at $4 each. Revisions never consume the free allowance. During early access, we review usage and send a monthly invoice instead of charging automatically.
Request access with your work email. We reply within 1 business day, review the request by hand, and share credentials after approval. There is no self-serve signup and no instant API key.
Creation is asynchronous. The API returns a request ID immediately and a webhook notifies your system when the story is ready. Indicative early-access turnaround: about 2 business days for a new completed design, and same day to 1 business day for a revision.
Automated checks and trained creative specialists review the areas that most affect quality and brand safety, including likeness, consistency, tone, visual craft and approved brand rules.
Partners obtain parental or guardian consent before upload. We encrypt data in transit and at rest, retain assets only for delivery, revision and billing support, delete on schedule or request, host primarily in the EU (Ireland) with optional US processing, and do not use customer-uploaded child photos to train foundation models.
